Nomad on Neverland

Her footsteps left an impression on the wet sand. Starring at them made her feel comfortable, it gave her a false sense of security. A fleeting thought that someone was walking towards her... Alas, reality struck way too soon. She realized it was her own.
Senses failed and thoughts evaded that mysterious mind of hers. It never struck her that she had been walking forever. But her body never failed her. Off late it was the only true indication of the turmoil her mind goes through. Her body bore the brunt of it all. A silent smile spread across her pale face when she felt the pain shoot through her knees - she knew those knees wouldn't take it for long, they will soon collapse. Just like the rest of her body will...she knew it all.
Knowing it gave a sense of security, a feeling that she will not be caught unawares! Pity, she had to draw strength from the fact that she is going to be gone forever.
She sat down on the beach... she starred emptily at the creamy, frothy waves simmer... she had all the time in the world, all the time until she is gone... gone for good.
People connect with different things in their lives, they connect with different people - but the only thing she connected to was the sea - the big blue ocean lashing its fury on the shore.
Why was that?
She knew the reason... she smiled yet again... she had too many things to smile about today... she smiled in retrospection.
She was the nomad wandering about in never land... she didn't know where exactly she started and she didn't know where she would end... she had swayed with ever twist and turn that her life put her through. She had followed different people, trusted way too many of them and was let down by an equal number of them. It didn't hurt any longer.
She was tired of pleasing people, she was tired of being their dutiful 'lady in waiting', she was tired of guarding herself.
Now she suddenly let loose. She broke her shackles and let herself loose...
She was still the solitary reaper - She was now the Nomad on Never land!
